Patient Recruitment Specialist

The Embedded Patient Recruitment Specialist is involved with all aspects of patient recruitment from initiating chart screening, through initial patient contact to scheduling for first visits or follow up visits. This position is 
embedded in a clinical trial site and reports to an offsite manager. It is important that this person is able to function as part of a team that is dispersed across the nation, while also building comradery with the research team at the site. This position is located Brooklyn, NY in the Bay Ridge area.

DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Deliver exceptional customer service
  • Demonstrate knowledge of Protocols including inclusions/exclusions.
  • Demonstrate knowledge of effects and side effects of medications.
  • Demonstrate knowledge of Good Clinical Practices and FDA regulations.
  • Obtain and maintain computerized lists by therapeutic indication before study starts.
  • Return all phone calls to interested patients within 24 hours and contact potential patients proactively when assigned.
  • Drive enrollment, retention, and engagement throughout the study journey.
  • Communicate with clinical operations manager, coordinators, and support staff regularly with status reports.
  • Attend in-house study meetings for every new protocol.
  • Maintain screening sheet for individual studies.
  • Maintain proficiency in communicating with patients.
  • Establish and maintain effective communication with providers.
  • Occasionally flex time to contact subjects when they are available.
  • Problem solve when enrollment is slow.
  • Meet potential patients in the doctor’s office immediately as needed.
  • Work closely with clinic personnel and Physicians to meet enrollment goals.
  • Must be outgoing and proactive in approaching clinic patients and educating patients about clinical research opportunities.
  • Must be willing to travel to events when necessary.

KNOWLEDGE & EXPERIENCE

Education:
  • High school diploma or equivalent.
Experience:
  • Must have at least 1 year of experience.
Requirements:
  • Regular and punctual attendance.
  • While performing regular duties, it is regularly required to talk on the phone all day.
